The reason social media was started was to help people communicate easier. Six degrees was the first one developed. It took off quickly because of how you could see what people look like and were able to see information about others. Linked in is used more for work profiles. You tube is to share videos. Twitter is like Facebook but newer and streams a little differently. Instagram is to share photos. Facebook was the biggest social media still used the most today. Hashtags are used for everything to go to the same page and the # goes in front of whatever word you use like greatdanelovers. Hashtags can be used to say what the product does then #hashtag after. Business’s use surveys and other questionnaires to find out how they heard about a product and what helped make their products sold. “Social media are increasingly visible in higher education settings as instructors look to technology to mediate and enhance their instruction as well as promote active learning for students.” as stated by Tess. The use of social media can also be used for schools to monitor their students and companies to see who they are about to hire. Nguyen,Yu,Melewar,Chen state “ The emphasis on a continuous and dynamic cycle of learning is crucial to identifying opportunities in the social media environment and, subsequently, to developing brand innovations.” Every time we use these platforms things can be advertised, research can be conducted, and people can talk. Ephesians 5:16 “Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” No matter what we do we need to use our time to use our faith and follow God.
