Paper Objective: Write a 3-5 page paper on one of the following topics:
Option I:
What were the origins of World War I, and what factors led the United States to enter the Great War? Discuss the various alliances, and how they contributed to the conflict, which was to end all conflicts.
Option II:
Examine the degree to which Woodrow Wilsons belief system, attitudes, and personal style contributed or to undermine his effectiveness as a leader in the United States and internationally during World War I? In what ways did the Treaty of Versailles embody, or fail to embody Wilsons fourteen points?
Option III:
Discuss the factors that contributed to the pro-business atmosphere in the United States during the 1920s. How did this pro-business atmosphere on the part of the government and the public manifest itself? Did this atmosphere contribute to the stock market crash of 1929 and to the depression that followed? Explain
Option IV:
Examine the impact of the Roosevelt administration on the American publics perception of the functions of the federal government and the governments role in protecting citizens from economic and social unfairness with its New Deal policies.
Note: The paper has a research element that will require the evaluating of both primary and secondary sources. The paper must be typed, double-spaced, using the MLA method of citing sources.
