Social problems are defined by a multitude of objective and subjective factors that vary across societies, among individuals and groups within a society, and across historical time periods (Mooney, Knox, & Schacht, 2000). For the purpose of this assignment, we will view a social problem as a condition that–at least some people–view as being undesirable. Examples include crime, violence, drug abuse, and environmental problems. Such social problems can be found at the local, state, national, and international levels.
