For this project, you will gather pictures and articles that relate to Occupational Health and Safety concepts.
You will select one of the following topics:
A. Examples of Emergency Response Procedures, Personnel and Equipment used to
respond to a Major Emergency that has occurred recently. Acceptable emergencies
would be the Covid 19 Pandemic, Calgary Snow Storm or another emergency approved by the instructor.
B. Examples of a Workplace Accidents that have a common root cause, such as unsafe handling of controlled products or failure to follow specific OH&S Codes and Regulations.
C. Examples of Electrical Accidents that illustrate the risks covered by the Workplace Electrical Safety Standard.
Your Scrapbook must include at least 10 separate entries, but may not include more than three each from the 5 categories below. Category 5 is a required component and may be used only once as the final entry in your scrapbook.
1. Photographs or Pictures of Situations, Equipment or Personnel related to your topic.
2. A description of the Situations, Procedures, Equipment or Personnel portrayed in your Photographs or Pictures. (Minimum 40 words per description).
3. Articles or clippings from newspapers, websites or magazines. You must include the article in its
entirety, along with a short written summary of the article (Minimum 40 words per summary). You must cite the source and date of the publication or the original web link.
4. A brief one-page description of something you have personally experienced related to your chosen topic.
5. Reflections on your views and feelings about the topic you have chosen and what you see as the role of Occupational Health and Safety in your workplace. (One Page)

All items in your scrapbook should be presented with a cover page with your name, student Id number and instructor. Make sure you complete the table on page two and submit it with your assignment.

This rubric is to be used by you as a checklist. Put the page number for each of the components list each separately. If you have three photographs list them as Photo # with page # for each one (Photo one on Page 3) for example. This checklist will show how you have met the requirements and will be used to calculate your assignment mark.
