PROMPT: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, E-Learning or online learning has become prevalent for students around the globe. While there are multiple platforms and innovative tools to support the online learning experience, this does not mean that it is a suitable method of learning for all students. Some educators advocate that online learning can effectively replace in-person learning, while others argue that online learning creates more challenges for students and can be detrimental to their overall learning, growth, and development both personally and professionally. Student age is also a determining factor in how online learning is received. Younger students might experience more learning loss than older students due to varying maturity levels, difficulty navigating technology, and the inability to independently use time management strategies. What is your stance on this issue? Formulate an argument in which you defend your position either for or against online learning. Evaluate the effectiveness and accessibility of different platforms and methods currently being used to support online learning. Be sure to use specific examples from your own experience and include direct research as evidence to support your opinion and strengthen your argument. You may even choose to engage with other students who have had experience with online learning as means to gather initial research. This debate is an important topic of discussion now and will continue to be in the future for students and educators of all ages. Where do you stand on this issue and why?
