I didnt always know what I wanted to do with my life, neither did I know who I wanted to be in life. Ive always told myself I was going anywhere but staying in the drug-infested streets of Chicago where substance abuse and the effects are visible daily in plain sight. 

At the start of middle school, I took an acting elective class. The first assignment was to memorize our assigned Shakespeare monologue and then perform it in front of the class in a couple of weeks. Who the heck is Shakespeare and what are those foreign words, I thought. On the day of the performance, I remember being on the empty quiet stage and one hot spotlight beaming on my forehead as I begin to sweat. Looking out at the class my mind went blank and nothing came out of my dry mouth. I didnt like getting up in front of people let alone let them hear me talk. I quickly walked back to my hard cold plastic chair, feeling embarrassed. 

Then at the end of the class, the teacher assigned another new monologue, my heart begins to pound out my chest. I took the new monologue home and beginning to practice every day. When it came time to perform the monologue in front of the class. I performed it loud and proud. The class applauded and told me how good I did. That day I walked home excited to tell my dad I wanted to be an actress. He bluntly told me to join the military because of their great educational benefits. I said no I dont want to go to war and kill.

All throughout high school, I took all the drama classes required to receive my fine art diploma. I was a girl with a plan so after graduating high school. I needed to get to sunny Hollywood to pursue my dream of being an actress.  I needed acting training so I joined the military and took advantage of the educational and salary benefits because I needed money because I come from a poor family. I finished my four-year service contract and received a Navy Achievement Medel for all my hard work. Then went off to pursue an acting career at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Shortly, after attending acting class, it was time to get out there in an audition for roles but not many jobs were coming my way. I knew I wanted to get more involved and control the outcome of my career so I decided to switch to directing after the encouragement from an acting teacher. He thought I would be a great director after seeing a scene directed by me.

Now I study Directing at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. While still attending school I have directed narratives, documentaries, promos,  music videos, and co-produced and direct Novel Kulture, a youtube channel shown around the world. The Novel Kulture platform has a following of nearly 20,000. I am a Director. I direct projects that help people bring their vision to life in a brief, fun, and creative way through film.
