Rules for submission:

• Paper must be typed, 12 pt font, double spaced, 6-8 pages. This page count does not include a title page or bibliography.
• Must be in ESSAY FORMAT
• You MUST use in-line citations if you are using information from a source. This includes information that you have paraphrased or are directly quoted. For this paper, you must use the following format: (Author’s name Publication year, Page number) ie (Johnson 2009, 13-15) or (Bianco & Canon 2008, 2). If you are unclear about what this looks like, please see the sample research paper in the Files tab.
• Your Paper must have a bibliography.
• Submitted via Canvass
• Proofread. You will be deducted points if you paper contains multiple spelling and grammatical errors.
• Formatted. You can use any style that you chose (MLA, APA, Chicago, etc) as long as it is neat and organized.
• Must be in a Word Doc (.doc, docx) format. PDFs, Apple Pages, Google Docs etc. files will not be accepted. You may use Google Docs or Pages to compose the paper, however make sure to save the file as a Windows Document.

Tips for Sources:

• Paper must have 6-8 sources
• 3-4 sources must be of a scholarly nature. This means they should come from academic journals, think thanks, or other peer reviewed sources.
• News sources are strong sources, however they are not academic. Great news sources include The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, The Economist, etc.
• Be very careful using partisan sources! They may be good sources for certain things, however keep in mind that their information might be slanted.
• Be wary of unreliable sources! Never use sources like InfoWars, Breitbart etc.
• If you are unsure of your source, ask!
