Do you think what happened to those of Japanese ancestry at Manzanar, and other internment camps, could happen again? Why or why not?
I just need the response for this assignment

It is most certainly possible, if the conditions are similar – but the conditions are unlikely to reoccur.
Historically, the program of accepting mass migration was less regulated – this caused a fear that the Japanese immigrants were rather international terrorists seeking to infiltrate the United States, therefor they were met with much more extreme national security measures.
However, today the immigration process is more strict and regulated. Additionally, refugees who feel nations of conflict are:
- Screened by eight federal agencies including the State Department, Department of Homeland Security and the FBI
- Six security database checks and biometric security checks screened against U.S. federal databases
- Medical screening
- Three in-person interviews with Department of Homeland Security officers

However, if there was ever a mass invitation of immigrants or refugees – from a country the the US was at threat – I would certainly expect detainment of the group until properly screened. Though, I would like to believe that the condition of the encampments would be less degrading and more humanized in the modern day America.
