The purpose of the paper is to exemplify meeting the course objectives as listed as the exit competencies in this syllabus. The emphasis should be on concepts as they apply to descriptive information and not the information itself. Students are expected to demonstrate the use of concepts presented in the course. The class participant should study a concept as it relates to his/her organization and change, broadly defined. The study should thoroughly describe a management theory or behavior, or systems practices or processes currently used in the organization. There must be an analysis of the effectiveness and adequacy of that system or practice. Recommendations for change and improvements are to be included. This project should require interviewing and/or examining organizational documents and will ground organizational change thinking in theory. Papers are expected to be 10 to 15 pages in length (typewritten and double-spaced). The paper should include the following:

- Table of Contents
- Introduction – Identify and describe the subject of the paper
- Background
- Body of Paper – Describe practice or system
- Conclusion
- References
- Supplemental materials as needed
The paper and all written assignments should follow an appropriate style format. There should be at least six references from scholarly journal articles, textbooks, or other governmental publications (excluding textbooks from this course). Any source materials derived from the Internet must be something otherwise available through normal scholarly channels. The issue of confidentiality must be observed. Term papers are to uploaded by the due date indicated in the assignment instructions. Papers late without good cause will be reduced one letter grade for each day late. All work in this course is expected to be that of the student and/or work of others which is appropriately cited
