Many people think that personality disorders are best understood as variants of normal personality rather than as categorical pathological entities (which is how they now appear in the DSM). What do you think? And why is it so hard to get people to adopt a dimensionally based model of personality? Have we perhaps become too attached to some of these clinical categories? Or do the alternatives just seem too complicated?
