1. Define sociology according to Conley, our textbook author.  In your own words, what is the paradox of sociology as explained in the textbook? Define the ‘sociological imagination’ according to C. Wright Mills.  Explain how using the ‘sociological imagination’ we can confront this paradox considering the rights concerns and avoiding the wrong assumptions. Use an example form your own social world to make this point (10 points) (3-5 minute answer).

2. Define and distinguish ‘quantitative’ from qualitative methods and explain how they differ. If you researched the topic you did for your Annotated Bibliography which methods would you use and why?  Be sure to define the methods using the definitions from your textbook  (10 points) (3-5 minute answer).
