Evaluate the Importance of Cultural Sensitivity in Understanding Health Behaviors

The topics I want you to write about are health care disparities in the LGBT community, health disparities in  African Americans,  Lack of mental health services for both populations above and you can pick the last topic.

Your assignment is to assess how cultural differences can affect health behaviors. Your assessment will examine the challenges from a provider’s perspective. You will create a handbook to distribute to all new employees. You do not need to include ethical guidelines (although you may if you wish to do so) in this handbook. As a starting point, you may use the APA guidelines for Mental Health Diversity in your resources above; however, remember that you are discussing mind-body connection, and not just mental health in isolation.

You will need to:

• Define, in your own words, cultural sensitivity and cultural competency.
• List at least five major issues identified in research related to cultural sensitivity and cultural competency in healthcare.
• Suggest ways in which traditional and alternative medical approaches can be used to complement and improve the approach to diverse popularity in health care setting.
• Make your handbook interesting by using pictorial or chart presentations where applicable.

Support your paper (handbook) with five (5) scholarly sources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
