Prepare a 15-18 minute, voiced-over PowerPoint presentation on a topic of interest to you. Instructions to make the PowerPoint are in the attached instructions. (if this is new to you, you should make sure you learn how to use the software long before sitting down to do it.) It should be a more in-depth look at something we have discussed, or will discuss, in this class. Look for small discrete topics. No large broad topics. Biotechnology and Abortion are broad topics. If you want to do these topics, find a small subtopic within the larger topic. If you would like to try something not covered in class or to make sure your topic is not too broad, please discuss with me prior to beginning, to get approval.
Your goal is to craft a presentation that educates the audience. Once I assess your presentation, I will post it for the rest of the class to see and learn from what you have provided. You may have personal opinions on your topic, but this is not the place to present them. Although if there is an appropriate place for your opinion, you can mention it. Your job is to look at both (all?) sides and do your best to educate us.
Like your papers and your discussions, most of the references you use should be of high quality. Many should be peer-reviewed. You may use information from websites, but make sure they are the best. The top link when you search on google is rarely sufficient. Ask yourself, why should I believe anything on this website. Just because it is on the website does not make it correct.
