Creative Lesson Plan

For this one, you need to pick a specific artist (visual, musical, dramatic, etc.) from any culture or historical time period other than someone of European heritage to be the focus of your lesson. Be sure to include:

• biographical information of the artist (including culture and historical period)
• at least 3 examples of the artist’s work
• creative pedagogy from at least two art domains/modalities (visual, musical, dramatic, movement, etc.) that helps students engage with the material aesthetically as well as intellectually
• these basic components of a lesson plan: 
  • context (grade level/content area/topic)
  • learning objective (I’d suggest using this format: "Students will be able to" + Bloom’s taxonomy verb + goal + condition)
  • appropriate standard(s) for grade level (Common Core, etc.)
  • materials needed
  • sequence of lesson (what you’re going to do)
  • assessment
  • modifications/accommodations/differentiation
• specific examples of talk (questions, comments, and vocabulary) that the teacher MIGHT find themselves wanting to use during the lesson
