Compare and contrast two sociological theories

this writing task is a kind of “rehearsal” for your major essay – You will be weighing up the pros and cons of two opposing ways of looking at society.

NOTE: You must demonstrate engagement with the set readings and seek approval for use of any additional reference material.

You should report the opposing views and arguments in a detached way – i.e., try to “stand back” from your own immediate reactions; try to be analytical rather than attempting to support a position; and try to calmly consider, in a balanced way, how what you are describing and reporting might be viewed from opposing sociological perspectives.
