Scenario:
Lamar is a struggling reader in your first gradeclassroom. You are concerned about his difficulty with reading comprehensionand want to provide more practice. You have noted that explicitly teachingreading comprehension strategies through question-based activities has reallyhelped Lamar. You are planning a reading lesson of a grade-appropriate readingselection with all of your students’ needs in mind. As you consider the needsof Lamar, you wonder which reading comprehension strategy you will teach yourstudents and have them practice in their pre-reading, during-reading, and post-readingactivities.
Based on information from Ch. 9 (section 9-4) of yourtextbook, you will need to:
Constructat least a 250 word response for both Part 1 and Part 2. You will need to answer all portions of this scenarioin order to receive full credit.
Atleast 2 in-text citations from your textbook must be made and cited accordingto current APA format.

Part1
Youmust choose 3 activities to help your students with comprehension:
One pre-reading activity,one during-reading activity, and one post-reading activity to reinforce yourstudents comprehension of the reading selection.
Foreach of the 3 activities you must:
a. Explain how the activity applies the new readingcomprehension strategy and addresses the issues in the scenario.
b. Give evidence from the chapter (with citations fromyour textbook) supporting how each activity helps students apply the newreading comprehension strategy and its appropriateness for Lamar and other strugglingreaders in your class.

Describe and justify how combining the threeactivities you chose would improve student engagement and reading comprehensionin the scenario.
