NARROW DOWN YOUR INTERESTS, before you write!Try to be as specific as possible: even if the questions you pose are open, to include more diverse research findings and opinions, you need to argue for their precise connection to your single focus. This proposal does not need to include a thesis statement as such [=what you will be arguing for]; but ONE issue or ONE aspect you are interested in. Do not provide a general introduction to the topic; make sure to be very focused, precise and specific in your proposal. This does not mean doing a lot of research/reading, but rather reflecting on what you want to focus on, and which questions would help you in this research process: e.g. which precise detail you want to focus on, which precise problem you wantdisentangle, which precise development or influences you want to trace, etc..
