Thissemester we have been considering various aspects of monsters. For the researchproject, please choose a fictional monster you are interested in learning moreabout.
This kind ofresearch essay is informational. You are explaining what/whom this monster is.
Task: Research and write about afictional monster, exploring how the monster you have chosen demonstrates somehuman aspects and analyzing what those aspects mean.
Purpose: To develop strong researchtechniques and writing skills, and to learn about a topic of individualinterest in greater depth.
Evaluation: Research projects will be evaluatedbased on the course rubric, including focus, organization, research techniques(and how well sources are integrated and cited into student work), and grammar.
Length of FINAL draft: 7 pages including the Works Citedpage. You may include photos (which are great!), but they are additional to thepage minimum.
Sources: 4-5 sources minimum, including bothprimary and secondary sources. The sources may include books, articles, films,images, television shows, websites, academic and scholarly sources, or othersources that may be appropriate.
