Why do we travel? What do you think? What causes us to travel, and what should we be most aware of when we do? Are there things that we can do/say/keep in mind to make our travel experiences more ethical or meaningful? Moreover, does our current moment living through a pandemic alter or add to any of your reflections on these questions?

As you create your 200-250 word response, please be sure to include at least one quote/reference from our readings by Pico Iyer and Thomas Swift AND please reference/respond to at least one of your classmates' ideas listed on the Discussion Board. Also please be sure to include your word count at the end of your post.

(Note: If you are the first to respond on the Discussion Board, you can simply reference three ideas from the readings.)

Once you have finished the readings, think about what travel means to you. Why do you think people travel? And what do you think are the most important things for people to keep in mind if they're going to leave home? Post an idea to this week's Discussion Board, making sure to support your ideas with at least two references/quotes from the readings by Pico Iyer, Thomas Swick, and Carl Thompson.
