Instructions:
answer the Discussion Prompt Question by using independently-sourced data and demonstrating the phenomenon of interest. The lecture provided by the professor during the Tuesday meeting should be helpful in guiding and contextualizing the material and the kinds of data sources that might be used. These briefs should make reference to the weekly materials, but are not to be a repetition of their content. Rather, the assignment is graded based on how well the data presented and discussed illustrate the relationships, trends or dynamics relevant to answering the Discussion Prompt Question. Visualization of the data is required, and there are no restrictions on the methods students may use to do so. A few basic examples include the use of charts (line or bar graphs, scatterplots) or maps to illustrate the relationships of interest in the data.
