Details of task – Video Presentation:
In groups of five [5];
briefly describe your chosen chronic illness topic, why it is important and set out for the audience what you plan to cover in your presentation.
Set the context of the chronic illness or disease by briefly describing how the signs and symptoms impacts a person’s life.
critically present what aspects of normal ageing, when combined with a chronic disease, may contribute to the development of disability, iatrogenic illness and geriatric syndromes.
review the nurse’s role in the chronic illness management and supporting older people to achieve independent living as much as possible with considering their potential.
The aim of this assessment is to demonstrate your skills and knowledge regarding nurses’ role in the management of a chronic condition in elderly, while trying to enhance their independence level. The overall assessment is worth 15% and your mark will be out of 15.
• The presentation will be strictly limited to 10 minutes; You may want to include questions and responses as part of the video presentation.
• Each student will plan and implement their session for the video using as one of their references, a key journal article selected either from a list available on Moodle or as agreed with the class teacher.
• The assessment criteria are available below and the detailed marking grids are available from the NUR5003 Moodle site
• Please submit your Video presentation in the NUR5003 Electronic Dropbox by the due date and time. As this is a group presentation, it is recommended you plan your submission well in advance of the due date.
Due date: Tuesday 8th June 2021 at 1600hrs.
Word limit: 10 minutes (equivalent to 1,500 words)
Value: 15%

A written plan of your groups presentation needs to occur with each group member selecting a method (such as initials) to highlight individual contributions. The group member/s who fail to supply evidence of their written & verbal contribution to the task are highly unlikely to pass the assessment and while this is a group task, a fair distribution of tasks with evidence is required to pass for all members in the group.
