1. What is your analysis of the root cause of the physician shortage? Why does it exist? Is there really a shortage or just a poorly constructed system for using physicians? What alternatives are being implemented to remedy the shortage of available care to patients, e.g. Nurse Practioner? Physician Assistants?

2. How is the increasing reliance on technology affecting healthcare? In what ways does it enhance patient satisfaction? Cause less patient satisfaction in getting healthcare?  Specifically what is the role of technology in changing the pattern of interactions between healthcare providers and patients.

What expertise is needed in a hospital board member? What political influences determine who is on the board of a community hospital? A for profit hospital? Compare the two boards and their roles.
