Several forms of criminal justice were discussed in the lesson. Identify one form, and in your opinion, how is this form more effective at achieving criminal justice standards. Why?

After becoming more familiar with the criminal justice systems, I tend to favor common law or adversarial system.  This system is not without flaws; however, I feel it maintains fairness throughout the process.  Adversarial system provides the presumption of innocence from the beginning which provides an equal level of fairness, of course until the facts are revealed.  This in turns places a high level of protection for one’s individual rights.  This system allows both sides to present the best case, best evidence, and best witnesses and at the conclusion, allows a third party to decide the outcome.  To me this provides an opportunity for both sides to bring forth appropriate legal arguments and or defend themselves to the best of their ability.  The major delta is that the outcome is based on how well a team or council can represent the accused/victim during the proceedings.  This system is used throughout this country and many more and still compared to the others presented, I feel is the most effective and fair criminal justice system.
