For-profit businesses typically analyze their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
For-profit businesses typically analyze their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) to determine how they can improve their competitive position. In Milestone Three, you will use a SWOT worksheet to support your analysis of the financial strength of the not-for-profit organization that you chose for your final project. This analysis is an important part of the overall strategic analysis report that you will write as your final project. In addition, you will consider the ethical implications of financial management in a not-for-profit organization.
Use the Swot Analysis Worksheet to assist you in analyzing the financial position of the not-for-profit organization that you have selected for your course project. You will not submit the SWOT worksheet for grading.
Overview: Because the money needed to operate a not-for-profit organization comes largely from private donations and public grants, spending the money
wisely is a top priority. In addition, where there is money, there is the temptation to misuse it. Strong financial management and a commitment to ethics go
hand-in-hand for a well-managed not-for-profit organization.
Complete the SWOT Analysis Worksheet to assist you in evaluating the financial management practices and ethical considerations of your chosen not-for-profit
organization. You will use this information to prepare your analysis. You will not submit the worksheet as part of the milestone assignment.
