Joann was hired in a medical office and medical office administrator, part of the job description required her to answer the phones and be on the front lines when dealing with the patients. She needed to quickly assess if the patient needed a same day appointment, be scheduled for an appointment in the near future, or go straight to the emergency room based on the information the patient provided over the phone. This meant she needed to have a proficient working knowledge of a wide variety of diseases, their symptoms, their level of seriousness, and the treatment associated with them. She understood that if she gave wrong information to a patient, and scheduled an appointment with the doctor, instead of directing them for a more immediate intervention, the time lapse could result in serious consequences.
Utilizing your knowledge from your Medical Terminology, Anatomy/Physiology, and Pathophysiology/Pharmacology courses, choose 2 from the list and research a third disease on your own and complete the following:

Describe signs and symptoms of the disease
Describe the process or protocol when a patient calls the medical office describing the symptoms
