The Scenario
The mayor of your city has asked you to recommend a comprehensive crime prevention strategy for the city. Specifically she has asked you to draft an 8-10 page crime prevention proposal in which you recommend a strategy through programs/policies for police, courts/sentencing and corrections that research evidence suggests are effective in reducing crime rates. 

The mayor has also emphasized that the programs/policies you choose across the three components of the criminal justice system should fit together well in a comprehensive crime prevention platform.
 

Your Job 

Using what you have learned in this course, and from your own research and/or professional experience, dig deeper to write an evidence-based strategy outlining the one main tactic/program/policy you are recommending that the police, courts and correctional system implement (one recommendation per component of the system, so three total). 

You should recommend approaches for each component of the criminal justice system that are designed to work well together.

The structure of your proposal should be as follows: 

Introduction paragraph – briefly introduces what you’ll talk about and provides an outline/roadmap for the rest of the policy proposal.
Policing section – outlining your recommended police program/policy/tactic, with a focus on research showing it is effective in reducing crime.

Courts/Sentencing section – outlining your recommended courts/sentencing policy/program, with a focus on research showing it is effective in reducing crime.
Corrections section – outlining your recommended correctional program/policy, with a focus on research showing it is effective in reducing crime.
Concluding paragraph – briefly summarizes your key recommendations across the three components of the criminal justice system.
Notes: Sections 2-4 should be roughly equal in length. Your paper must adhere to the formatting and style specified in the assignment check area below
