Hello Class,
TCP DUP ACK was an interesting find, it seemed that the needed retransmission of out-of-order packets is a common occurrence. As long as the total retransmission rate of traffic doesn’t exceed 2% of all traffic, the service shouldn’t be noticeably affected (Chappell, 2020). Next to this black and pink row was a similar message indicating a spurious retransmission, meaning that the receiver already recognized and corrected the unorganized data, also being known as a needless retransmission. There was some curious activity that it is own way begs for an answer, such as a large TCP stream of communication between my laptop and Yahoo Ad Manager Plus. This was the message from entering the IP, however I do not use Yahoo, have an email, or engage in its software. I’ve noticed it as an option, like an shortcut on my initial safari browser, perhaps its presence alone will continue to transmit information. Most of the information captured and transmitted is between 60 – 90 bytes, however at an incredibly dense and consistent rate. It would be essential to understand how the various protocols and requests affect a network, which would inform of what may a problem. As a novice, the software is significant however requires an acquired understanding.

Good evening professor and classmates,
When looking over my own network and elements of it in Wireshark, I had noticed a lot of interesting traffic coming in and out. At first I wasn’t quite aware what the different color coded packets meant, so I had to go do some more research to figure that portion out. Wireshark is still a very new program to me and one that I am learning a little bit more about everyday. One of the interesting parts I noticed was a decent amount of connections to areas that I had no programs running for. For instance I had a few connections that were really reaching out to some far away places, at times places like Russia and the Netherlands.
But looking at my system I really didn’t see anything to concerning, at least not to me, about the connections being made or the traffic going in and out of the network.
