What impressed you most about the performance? Why?

Points for Concert Reports: 40 points each. The first report is due on Tuesday March 24, 2020. The second report is due on Thursday May 14, 2020.

You must submit and upload the report as a Word or PDF file. Be sure to put your name on the report. A proof of attendance must be attached – no credit will be given without the attendance proof. The proof can be a scanned-in copy of the ticket stub or program. If these are not available, provide another form of proof such as a cell phone picture of yourself at the event.

One of the concerts you attend must feature classical music. The other concert can be jazz or World Music. The concert must be advertised and open to the general public. Casual and non-professional music events such as those played at restaurants, high schools, etc…will not be accepted. Contemporary pop music concerts are also not acceptable.

Some additional ideas to consider as you write up the report:

For any written project, it’s safe to start with the basics. Who, what, when, where, how, why (did you like/dislike).

–What impressed you most about the performance? Why?

–Why did you like/dislike the music? Did one song stand out from all the others?

–Describe the performers. Were they connecting with the audience or just ignoring them? Were they expressive or just going through the motions?

–Can you connect the musical terms and concepts you learned from the student guide with the live performance of the musicians? Explain using examples.
