Students will conduct an interview with 2-3 organizational leader to identify the key organizational issues and challenges he/she faces regularly (Use the attached Leadership paper to gather information on the 2 leaders). Questions will focus on THREE specific organization behavior content areas: (1) motivation (2) Groups and Teams; and (3) Organization Structure. Specific assignment details are listed below. Your paper will be at least 6-7pages long, double-spaced 12pt font and must be written adhering to APA guidelines. For information regarding formatting and style guidelines. You must include an introduction and conclusion in your paper. Each section should be at least 2-pages long and must include subheadings for each section of the paper. An example is provided below.
Goal of this assignment: The objective of conducting this interview and writing this paper is to learn (in detail) about the individual’s experience with each of the following important areas of Organizational Behavior:
•How people are motivated at work (and what de-motivates them)- Chapter 7
•Successful and unsuccessful groups and teams and how the teams’ effectiveness (or lack thereof) impact organizational performance and productivity-Chapter 8
•Organizational structure (how people are arranged into teams/departments on the organization chart), specifically the impact of Hierarchy and Centralization/Decentralization (and span of control, division of labor, etc.) on individual’s ability to solve problems and make decisions.-Chapter 15.
