The readings analyze the special vulnerabilities and needs of children, a population particularly susceptible to victimization. Until the late 1970s and early 1980s, there were few interventions for children who were the victims of crime. Explain how the perspectives of child abuse have changed over the last century. Identify how this evolution has affected the victimization of minors.

After learning about the adult victim’s role within the Criminal Justice System last week, identify processes that would be especially challenging to a victim who is a minor? Explain why these particular aspects of the criminal justice process would be particularly challenging to this population? Summarize how current criminal codes and statutes treat minors differently than adults, due to these challenges. Posts should be at least 300 words.
