In the last chapters of Beyond Feelings, Ruggiero takes on the topics of forming judgments and persuading others. The chapter on forming judgments is particularly important because it provides a road map of sorts for developing the intellectual discipline and honesty necessary to form judgments that do not inappropriately rely on emotional reactions or dispositions. The final chapter discusses the importance of the power of persuasion. The first time I read it, it struck me that it could aptly be entitled “The Psychology of Persuasion.”
