Certification is becoming a high demand for employers when hiring Medical Assistants. To meet governmental requirements, gain proper reimbursement, and have Medical Assistants perform specific job duties where credentials are needed, many states and healthcare facilities are either requiring Medical Assisting Certification upon hire or requiring that newly hired Medical Assistants obtain their certification within 90 days of employment.

Describe your understanding of why it is so important and why so many healthcare facilities are requiring this certification for employment. Also describe various job duties that this certification allows a Medical Assistant to do versus those who are not certified.
