Analyze the different school environments in the United States
The way in which we educate students in the United States has changed dramatically in recent years. Families now have a variety of choices as to where they send their children to school. This can be based on ethics, core values, and/or educational needs.
Analyze the different school environments in the United States (public, private, charter, Montessori, specialized school with focus on students with exceptionalities , specialized school with focus on gifted students, open pre-school that accepts state subsidies). Use the “Analyzing School Environments” matrix (see attached) to identify information about these schools. Examine the historical foundation of each school and how they have evolved to their current status.
In addition, identify the historical description, current description, goals, and or visions for meeting student needs for each school type. Below the matrix, write a 250-300 word reflection on the changes that have occurred over the years in how each school type meets the needs of students with exceptionalities.
Support your matrix with 2-3 scholarly resources.
While APA style format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
