Get it written →By this stage you should have a clear idea of your research problems, have collected your data, and you have developed an outline for how your research will address your research questions. Now it is time to write your paper.
At this stage you will submit a completed draft of your Research Paper. Your draft should include all major sections of the research paper. Since different fields structure research papers differently, you should check the sample guidelines under the heading, “Writing for Different Fields”, at http://writingcenter.unc.edu/handouts/ and model your paper after the examples that most closely correspond to your paper. In general, a good research write-up will include:
An introduction which identifies your research problem
A background section which reviews previous work on this problem
A methods section which identifies what methods of data collection you used and the data you collected
A section which discusses the results of your research and which analyzes the findings from these results
A conclusion to your paper
A reference list
Your paper should be 10-12 pages (i.e. 2500-3000 words) in length, following APA style guidelines. Remember to proofread and revise your writing before submission. It is your responsibility to proofread your draft, not the responsibility of your reviewer.
Submitting your Draft: There are two places where you should submit your draft:
Post your draft in the Peer Feedback on Your Draft Discussion in this module so your assigned peer review partner can review your draft, and
Post a copy in this Assignment so your instructor can give feedback.
