middle managers. Create both short-term and long-term incentives, explaining
why you feel they will be motivating to middle-managers. Why does this group

Both short-term and long-term
incentives are often a big benefit to employees. Used on top of the base
compensation strategy, these types of incentives can motivate employees to do
their best in order to capitalize on the money they have the opportunity to
make. Short-term incentives may include achievement awards, contest payouts,
tenure, and additional monies paid out when hitting a certain goal, to name a
few. Long-term incentives typically consist of pension plans, stock plans,
savings incentive match, and 401k plans.
In order to come up with an effective
plan, there must be an in-depth planning process. The industry, types of work
to be done, and employees must be taken into consideration. Essentially,
short-term and long-term incentive plans are used to motivate employees. So if
the motivators are not worked into the incentive plan, the plan will not be
effective.
