• Recommend one or more policy or practice changes designed to balance the competing needs of resources, workers, and patients, while addressing any ethical shortcomings of the existing policies. Be specific and provide examples.
• Cite evidence that informs the healthcare issue/stressor and/or the policies, and provide two scholarly resources in support of your policy or practice recommendations.

• Organizational Practices are the behaviors and actions of members of the organization.

  Organizational Practices are located immediately outside of the Core Culture. They are not the elements of Core Culture; they are the behaviors that convert ideals to actions which keep the culture alive.

  Organizational Practices are either Internal – within your organization – or External – with those outside the organization.

  1. Internal Practices

  Internal Practices are the inner workings of the organization that affect employee relationships, interactions and accomplishments. Because these organizational Practices are closest to the Core Culture, the organization’s consistency in aligning them with the Core Culture will have a major impact on organizational success.

  Internal Practices include:

  • organizational structure, job titles, how work is organized, and the systems and processes for doing work
  • recruitment and selection
  • training and development
  • performance management–including employee goals / objectives and key results; continuous feedback conversations; one-on-one weekly or quarterly feedback sessions; performance evaluations; and recognition, appreciation, and celebrations
  • internal communications
  • technology
