What do you think is behind the great silence?2) Many works of both fiction and non-fiction have addressed the issue of how humans both individually and as societies would react to so-called first contact with an intelligent alien species. Reflect for a moment on your own feelings on this matter suppose we discovered clear and indisputable evidence of the existence of an intelligent alien species living in a nearby planetary system. How would you react to that knowledge? What (if anything) would change about your worldview?
