Academic/Career Planner in psychology (Part 2)You’ve nearly compl
Academic/Career Planner in psychology (Part 2)You’ve nearly completed PSY 2010! Finally, you can stop listening to Robby talk over Zoom each week! But wait, there’s one more thing you need to do (other than your lit review and final, of course)…For this Academic/Career Planner (Part 2), you are asked to revise your Part 1 assignment and update your career and course plan based on what you learned in this course. Just like in Part 1, create a plan for the coursework and work/internship/research experience you will need for the major and for your career. You will need to note the courses you have previously completed and then chart out your future courses based on your career path. You will then reflect on how your course/career plan changed after this course, if at all, and then reflect further on what questions you still have and where you go from here. This homework is designed to be a summative assignment for the course, cementing two of the key learning objectives (5.1 and 5.5).Just like before, it is strongly recommended you meet with the PAC Office for any help you might need: https://psych.utah.edu/undergraduate/advising.php (Links to an external site.). They can meet with you virtually or over the phone to go through your plans and offer course planning advice. They will know much more about specific course offerings than I will! (1) Using the PDF you submitted for Part 1, complete the (3) points from before. In case you forgot, here they are:- Ensure that the checkboxes and tables on the first page note your completed/current courses up to this point in your UofU career (again, do not forget to put your name on the form). – On the second page of the major form, start to plan out the Psychology courses you will take, planning 3 semesters ahead (i.e., start with Fall 2020, then Spring 2021, and go from there). Try your best to list all course names and titles (e.g., PSY 2010, Psychology as a Science & Profession). It’s ok if you can’t do this for every single course (e.g., you may want to take an elective that is offered rarely and doesn’t have a clear course name/title) but I expect all information for ~80% of all courses listed. The important thing is that you list all Psychology courses you have taken/plan to take that fulfill the U’s bachelor degree requirements (i.e., language (for BA), diversity, quantitative intensive (for BS), upper-division communication/writing, international). You can find the Bachelor Degree Requirements on the Office of Undergraduate Studies website (ugs.utah.edu). Do not use the General Education ones, I’m just looking for psych specific courses here. You can find a list of classes on the website that fulfill each requirement. You do not need to know if the courses will be offered at an exact time, just estimate when you’d like to take a course (this is not a contract, just a general framework).[On the minor form, you don’t need to plan as many Psych courses, so briefly mention in the Notes section when you might take courses or get certain experiences like internships. Don’t worry about charting out non-psychology courses, I’m just looking to see you plan your Psychology coursework/experiences.]- In the “Notes” section of your document, explain in a couple sentences how the Psychology courses align with your goals (as outlined from your ‘Profile of Goals’ Assignment). Remember, you are to update your Academic/Career Plan. Are there any different courses you want to take now? If the planner is exactly the same as before, I expect you to justify this in the next section.(2) Now that you have nearly completed this course, describe how psychology as a science and the various areas and careers paths in psychology informed your academic/career plans. Did the content of this course change the courses and experience you planned? For instance, are you considering an internship or research experience now? Are you seeking a specific course on a content area that caught your interest? If you have space, complete this item in the PDF Notes. If not, please add this to a separate Word doc and upload that with the PDF planner. However, please write a paragraph on this section, do not just write a sentence or two.(3) Lastly, reflect on what you still need to know in order to pursue your career path. Obviously, a single course can’t explain everything! For this final item, describe what questions you still have, either about courses, career choices, etc., and then ponder where you might find answers to your questions. For instance, you might need to talk to Robby or another professor or grad student. Perhaps you just need to reflect more on your interests or learn more about areas of psychology on the internet. There are no wrong answers to this question! If you have space, complete this item in the PDF Notes. If not, please add this to a separate Word doc and upload that with the PDF planner.RUBRIC:Major/minor PDF form uploaded and completed correctly, just as in the Part 1 assignment (i.e., checkboxes and tables note completed/current courses, and courses are charted out either in the Notes or on the second page, with ~80% of all course info listed) – 10 ptsDescribe (1) how the courses planned align with long-term career goal and (2) compare this career/course plan with the Part 1 assignment (i.e., how did the course inform your career/course plan?) – 10 ptsReflect on questions you still have and what you still need to achieve your career goal and follow your plan. Describe specific questions and concerns you have and how you might answer those questions – 10 ptsTotal – 30 pts
