Get it written →Task: Develop three potential research questions surrounding a sample topic. Your goal, as in the lesson example is to write question one that is broad, one that is too narrow and two that are just right. Label them as such. In the next part you will use your strongest question to create a key words chart as shown. Written work for submission: Write the four questions, labeling them narrow, broad, and just right 1 and 2. Part 2: Key words chartCreate a key words chart. To do this, pull out the key terms from your best research question, write them alongside the top of your typed page, and then find three to five relevant synonyms for each word. If you are technically savvy, you can create a little chart. The goal here is that this chart can be of great use when you conduct your database searches. (See this page for an example of a research question leading into a key words chart.). Part 3: Compare Internet and Database Searches Instructions:Now, using your key words chart, you will conduct a search for your chosen topic using three search methods: Proquest, Google Scholar and regular Google. Spend at least ten minutes on each search. Examine the results you get after your searches and review a few of the top and middle sources more closely. What observations can you make about the quantity, style and credibility of these sources? Use CAPOW guidelines to help guide your observations. Take notes as you search!b. Written work:In writing, reflect on your observations while doing the above searches, including the quality and types of sources you found for each of the three searches you did. Then compare your results from the three searches and write your observations/comparisons. You can structure it as follows: Use the headingPart 3: Internet and Database search. a. ProQuest: b. Google Scholar: c. Google:d. Recommended database of your choosing, such as Opposing Viewpoints, EBSCOHOST, Credo Reference. Please see a framework example below: Part 3: Internet and Database searches a) ProQuestThe topic I researched was ‘undocumented immigration.’ When I completed this search in the database, I noticed X. The number and types of sources I found were… Compared to the other two searches, the Proquest search led me to X type of results or sources. The benefits of a ProQuest search are X. The pitfalls of it are Y.b) GoogleThe google search on ‘undocumented immigration’ led me to X. The sources that I found could be described as x,y,z. Compared to the ProQuest search, this search led me to X type of sources. The positive elements of a google search on a topic versus a ProQuest search would be X. On the other hand, something to be careful of is Y. ProQuest led me to more of X. Overall, I observed X,Y, Z about using google searches for research.c) Google ScholarIn comparison to a Google or ProQuest search, a Google Scholar search on ‘undocumented immigration’ resulted in X. It was similar to a Google Scholar article because of X, and to a ProQuest search because of Y. However, I noticed a difference in …. When I read through a few of the articles on Google Scholar, I noticed X,Y. Overall, what I learned through these different searches was X,Y,Z. d) Other chosen database
