PART II GENERAL/LAY AUDIENCE PRESENTATION
Create and develop 1520 PowerPoint slides to support your outline and your instructors feedback on your outline. The PowerPoint presentation should be suitable for a professional meeting.
You will be graded on the presentational quality of your PowerPoint slides. Here are some tips for a professional PowerPoint presentation.
Choose a PowerPoint design, color scheme, font type, and bullet types
Organize the slides based on your headings and subheadings
Include a title slide (at the beginning) and a reference slide (at the end of the presentation)
Do not overload the slides with text and data
Use bullet points to organize your text
Keep the text abbreviated and concise
Strive for clarity
Choose a different layout for each slide
Use pictures, graphics, charts, and graphs to illustrate key points
Graphics should make a key concept clearer
Use at least 30 point font size consistently throughout
Final slides should emphasize key points or leave the audience with a question to think about or answer
Type a narration for each slide in the notes section under each PowerPoint slide. The typed narration is what would be orally presented, if you were to present this presentation in a professional meeting. Once you have created your narrations in the notes section, go back through the slides and eliminate words that are not necessary to your audiences understanding. Delete bullet points that you can better explain through your oral presentation. Also, remember your audience. This presentation should be suitable for a professional meeting.
Be sure to include a slide at the end of the presentation that lists all of the sources used in the presentation (for your final presentation, you should have between 10-15 referenced sources listed). All citations or footnotes in the slides/notes section must be consistent with AMA (American Medical Association) format.
Submit the completed PowerPoint Presentation to the Discussion Board Forum by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of Module/Week 7. In addition, submit your PowerPoint presentation through the assignment submission link in Module/Week 7. The purpose of submitting the presentation to the Discussion Board forum is so that your fellow classmates can view the final presentation. The purpose of submitting your presentation to the assignment submission link is so that your instructor can grade your presentation. Any assignment not submitted to both locations may be penalized for late submission.
