The purpose of the reflective journal is to provide concise communication between the student and the clinical faculty. The journal is also important to evaluate students progress while meeting course objectives.
The student is required to write 3 journals reflecting their nursing practice in the virtual clinical area and analysis of these clinical experiences.
Journal entries are to be up to 2 pages, typed in MS Word, double-spaced and 12-font size is required. The writing must be clear, descriptive and grammatically correct. Journals must be posted to Blackboard by the due date.
*** All three (3) reflective journals must address the following information:
1. Provide a short overview of your daily nursing responsibilities in delivering patient care according to the scenario you choose (MI, Anxiety, Etc.).
2. Address your learning experiences utilizing the 4 Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the 6 competencies related to BSN Program Framework and Design.
3. List at least 2-3 new knowledge/skills that you have learned and identify 1 that had the greatest impact on your nursing practice.
4. Provide a summary of your progress in meeting all of the course objectives and list the objectives you still need to meet or need to continue to develop. Find a list of course objectives on the course syllabus.
