Rough Draft: All of our writing projects begin with a rough draft. You should write at least three pages (900 words) as a way of beginning to think about your topic. This draft is due on Thursday, July 30 It can be very rough writing. It wont be graded or even submitted to me, but it will be shared in your writing circle. Its a first step towards developing it into a longer, more finished paper. If fact, it may be your only step. If you dont want to continue to work on it, you can move on to other projects.
If you choose to develop this draft to submit later in the semester, I suggest that you bring in other examples of either zombie stories or haunted house stories (short stories, novels, movies, television, other media.)
Revised Draft: You will have a revised draft due on Thursday, August 4. That is, you will need to choose second paper to revise, one that youve already shared with your Writing Circle to submit to me for feedback. That could be this one, or it could any of the other Writing Circles that you have not yet submitted for a grade. In any case, I will expect you to revise your rough draft in response to the feedback you got in your group and to develop it to 4-6 pages (1,200-1,800 words) in length.
