Comment on two significant themes in the book and life of Joshua: transition of power and the realities of conquest.
When considering the theme of transition of power, address the ways God prepared and comforted Joshua to be able to take the reins of leadership. Relate Joshua’s experience to an instance in your life when God supplied you the same type of help.
Regarding the realities of conquest, compare and contrast Old Testament herem and Islamic jihad. Address the motivation, extent, and goal of each. Read Four Jihads for more information on the latter:
