Sam has been anxious about test taking for six years. Now, in his last year in college, he is nauseous and vomiting before each of his last 3 exams. It has effected his sleep, his social interactions and his eating (he rarely eats 2 meals a day). He has a long family history of medicated family members for anxiety disorders and up until now has not needed medication. He has lost 2 friends recently that he normally counted on for social support. Please help him.
Case Study 2:Latanya has returned from serving her country in Iraq. Normally outgoing, she has been solemn and introverted. She tells a friend that is very nervous when driving, can’t sleep, and is startled easily. Bombs, gun fire, and helicopters were common sounds and sights for the past 5 years during her deployment. Now she is starting to get migraine headaches. Her family is worried and reaches out to you. they also confide that many of her platoon are also struggling with civilian reentry. Please help her.
