Homeland security assessment

You will conduct a homeland security assessment on a city, municipality, or county of your choice.  If your selection is a large metropolitan area you may choose to scale the assessment down to a manageable size such as a district, ward, or precinct.  The assessment will:

Identify homeland security (emergency management) stakeholders and their roles;
Identify and document all potential hazards (natural, human, technological, and HazMat);
Analyze and document research from local, state, or federal sources (FEMA, DHS, local EM) on efforts to prepare, mitigate, and recover from identified hazards;
Compare other country’s disaster response and policies to the chosen city, municipality, or county;
Recommend steps that your assessment location should take to mitigate, prepare, and respond to the most significant hazards you identified;
Integrate a Biblical worldview;
Have a minimum of four sources
Be between 1,250 and 1,500 words in length; and
Use current APA writing style guidelines, one inch margins, double-spaced lines, Times New Roman, 12 point font, but not use a title page, running header, or abstract.
