The assignment for this course will be the preparation and writing of a 5-page funding request or proposal to a public or private funding source. Students in the course will research to identify funding sources appropriate to the potential project they have chosen to work on. In their preparation of the funding request, students will show an understanding of proposals’ requisite elements, master formatting requests that are appropriate to the chosen funding prospects and writing that is logical and persuasive. Well written material that shows the use of sentence structure, punctuation, and overall appearance suitable to the appeal being made and rise to the level of this graduate course.

Following instructions (5%)
Cohesiveness: Does the proposal flow well and is there an appropriate case made? (40%)
Appropriateness of the funding proposal for the funding area (20%)
