Using the material (annotated bibliography and outline) you have already developed, write a 1,7502,000-word essay on the Doctrine of the Trinity. The essay will be composed of two parts:

Part 1 (Evaluation)

Evaluate the development of the Trinity throughout this course. Include a discussion of the relevant people/councils, including the ecumenical councils, patristics, Cappadocian Fathers, Augustine, Calvin, and others in your response.

Part 2 (Discussion and Formulation)

Explain how you would discuss and formulate the Trinity today in the context of ministry, paying particular attention to the structure of the Trinity, God’s triune role in salvation/gospel, and the nature of Scripture. In other words, for the second section, answer, “Why does the doctrine of the Trinity matter?”
