By employing Gilbert and Terrells (2014) policy analysis framework, analyse one of the policies of your interest. Your analysis should cover all the four dimensions the analysis framework. You may draw on any policy case study of your interest.
By undertaking your own independent research, your assignment should demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills relating to policy analysis and evaluation, and ability to critically apply such knowledge and skills on a chosen policy by synthesising, interpreting and by using your own critical thinking and judgement.

By analysing a relevant policy and current debate relating to migration and refugees, critically discuss whether the contemporary populist radical right thinking is influencing such policies in Australia. How social work/human services values sit with such populist right policies. What challenges it poses to social work practice and what social workers can do?
By undertaking your own independent research, your assignment should demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills relating to policy analysis and evaluation of the influences of the populist right thinking on policies in the Australian context. It should show your ability to gather relevant information, critically analyse, synthesise, interpret and judge based on evidence.
RATIONALE
