This assignment requires that you (i) critically examine the materials for the teaching and learning of (a) specific language skill(s), and (ii) produce a written evaluation report discussing the strengths and limitations of the selected set of materials in accordance with the target learners needs and English language curriculum in the country/city. On the basis of the evaluation, you (ii) make informed recommendations for improvement to be made to the materials in the light of the ELT theories, approaches and methodologies covered on the course. The materials for your critical and in-depth analysis should come from the maximum of a chapter/unit in a published course/textbook you are familiar with (which must be attached as an appendix), and the selected teaching point(s)/area(s) in the materials should be relevant to your current/future teaching and learning context.
