I sometimes refer to this as “that free country thing.” In a free country, such as ours, we memorialize the notion that everyone is entitled to his or her personal opinion. We even, in certain respects, make it a matter of law through things like the freedom of speech, freedom of association, right of privacy and the right to vote by doing nothing more than turning 18. There is no qualifying exam. You get these rights by virtue of being human. So, in this country at least, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. Does that mean that all opinions are equal?
